One Extraordinary Street The locally produced documentary, “One Extraordinary Street,” will premiere on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Power Center Ballroom of Duquesne University. Produced by Duquesne alumna Laura Magone, the film focuses on the many famous natives of the Park Avenue neighborhood of Monongahela, including retired NFL quarterback Joe Montana, Disney Channel founder Jim Jimirro, U.S. Army Chief of Staff General Carl Vuono, and more. Gospel According to Paul St. Vincent Seminary will present “The Pope Benedict XVI Chair of Biblical Theology and Liturgical Proclamation” annual lecture featuring Dr. Scott Hahn on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert S. Carey Performing Arts Center on the campus of St. Vincent College in Latrobe. Hahn will speak on “The Gospel According to Paul.” Lecture is free and open to the public. Prayer service at Crèche The Christian Fellowship, an ecumenical group of local bishops and denomination executives, will lead a prayer service at the annual dedication of the Pittsburgh Crèche on Friday, Nov. 21, at noon in the plaza of the USX Tower in Downtown Pittsburgh. The children’s choir and band from St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Glenshaw will perform from 11:30 a.m.-noon, and the Covenant Church of Pittsburgh Choir will sing from 6:30-8:30 p.m. interior Castle The Interior Castle (The Mazzei Family) will sing at the 5 p.m. Mass for the feast of Christ the King on Saturday, Nov. 22, at St. Thomas a Becket Parish in Jefferson Hills. In addition, the group will perform a selection of hymns 20 minutes before Mass begins. Ecumenical Christmas festival The ecumenical Christmas Festival, to help Pittsburghers focus on the true meaning of Christmas, will be held on Monday, Dec. 15, at Heinz Hall in Downtown Pittsburgh starting at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature local church choirs performing Christmas carols, scriptural readings and prayers.
